Vista 360° is very proud to announce that Aidai Asangulova received one of two awards for textile excellence at the Agaati Global Eco-Artisans Awards 2021. Huge thanks to Agaati, and to founder Saloni Shrestha, for organizing this program to shine a bright spotlight on the value of handmade artisan work.
Aidai’s work is wearable art that bridges the gap between ancient cultural traditions and mainstream luxury fashion. At Vista 360°, we have traveled a similar journey, from a festival celebrating Kyrgyz culture, art and music in Jackson Hole in 2003 to selling Aidai’s work at fairs and festivals to Santa Fe’s Folk Art Market to Maison D’Exceptions at Premiere Visions in Paris in the highly-selective showcase for “latest innovations in ultra-creative, artisanal know-how” to the Agaati Award this month. We have been able to travel this beautiful path thanks to our circle of friends and supporters.
This journey recognizes and celebrates the true value of Aidai’s handmade and innovative work. There is value not only to the fortunate wearer, but also to the social order. We are working now to adjust our prices to reflect this true value as wearable art + social good.
